Optimal Pulse Shapes for Periodic Reverse Electroplating

چکیده
Abstract – In this report, time-dependent carrier concentration in electrolytic cells, due to some basic periodic shapes of excitation signal, has been studied. Exact analytical solutions for step, sinusoidal and periodic pulse reverse inputs are derived. The effect of frequency, forward and reverse amplitudes, and duty cycle are investigated. An analytical solution of the model is obtained as Fourier series using Laplace transformations applied to a onedimensional model with linearized Butler-Volmer electrode kinetics. The results are applied to an acid-copper bath. It is shown that optimal operation points exist. Optimal current waveforms for obtaining efficient and enhanced deposition process, and faster deposition rate compared to simple DC electroplating is discussed.

This paper presents systematic investigations on complete through hole filling for cores using a Cu electroplating process as an alternative to the common paste plugging process [1]. This technology is targeting at both HDI production and also at the packaging level [2]. This electro plating process consists of two steps, a first process to merge both centers of the through hole walls (X-platin...
متن کاملPulse reverse plating for uniform nickel height in zone plates
Nickel soft x-ray zone plates are fabricated by through-mask electroplating. The authors report on how a uniform nickel thickness can be obtained over the entire zone plate using pulse and pulse reverse plating. If the plating is carried out at a constant current the nickel thickness has been observed to decrease with radius. This results in lower outer zones and reduced diffraction efficiency ...

The physics of energy transfer between the laser and the plasma in laser wakefield accelerators is studied. We find that wake excitation by arbitrary laser shapes can be parameterized using the total pulse energy and pulse depletion length. A technique for determining laser profiles that produce the required plasma excitation is developed. We show that by properly shaping the longitudinal profi...
